This is the most ambitious energy efficiency project in Madrid. It consists of the renovation and LED conversion of more than 50,000 luminaires and traffic regulation systems, as well as work on more than 125,000 lighting points. It includes the management of public lighting, the traffic system, the Madrid tunnel systems and the management and control system with two control centres. This serves to reduce the city’s annual energy consumption by 39%, representing an economic saving of 125 million euros over the 8-year duration of the contract.
