Valencia City Council has entrusted SICE to carry out a supply project to improve the energy efficiency of public lighting facilities in Valencia, consisting of the renovation of 15,000 luminaires distributed in three areas within the city.
The project mainly aims at reducing electricity consumption and increasing energy efficiency in municipal public lighting installations, by replacing old luminaires with more modern ones provided with LED technology, as well as replacing ballasts and sodium vapor lamp with electronic ballasts and metal halide lamps, whose technology is much more efficient. In addition, they will also carry out other auxiliary operations, such as the installation of protection in command centers, land and legalization of the facilities.
In recent years, the city’s lighting network has been severely damaged due to theft of cable. For this reason, all renewals include alarm systems, which will send alerts both to SICE and to the Local Police in case of cuts.
Works start in summer and will last approximately 4 months. This project is the most relevant and ambitious that Valencia’s City Council will carry out concerning the renovation of its public lighting facilities. With this award, SICE strengthens even more its leadership within the Energy Efficiency and Public Lighting Business Line.
