SICE keeps contributing to Sydney’s tunnel network modernisation thanks to a new contract with Transurban

Sydney, Australia – A new reference has been added to SICE’s portfolio after agreeing to a contract with Transurban to replace the existing Operations Management and Control Systems (OMCS) at the Lane Cove Tunnel and Hills M2 Motorway in Sydney.

SICE was awarded by Transurban the replacement of the two existing control systems in Lane Cove Tunnel, a 3.6 km twin tunnel, and the Hills M2 Motorway, which also has a 460m twin tunnel, delivering SICE’s flagship centralised management system SIDERA and integrating both assets into a unique OMCS system. This integrated system will allow safer and more efficient management of the existing tunnels and roads.

This is SICE’s third ongoing OMCS replacement project in the region, along with integrating the CityLink motorway into the West Gate Tunnel OMCS. This new contract reinforces SICE’s position as the lead OMCS vendor in Australia and its ongoing collaboration with Transurban.

The awarded contract includes the provision of upgraded Control Centre equipment, which includes workstations, servers and video walls, a Digital Video Management System, and a Telephony Management System. SIDERA’s scalability and expandable architecture make integrating and upgrading these subsystems easy while reducing the risk of incompatibility between other existing systems, devices, and applications.

SICE is a systems integration technology company with extensive and comprehensive experience in over 60 locations worldwide. No two roads are the same, each with unique geometries and operating challenges. SICE’s flagship product, SIDERA, is a highly configurable commercial-off-the-shelf technology to suit customers’ unique roadways and requirements. SIDERA is a world-leading, fully integrated OMCS that allows road operators and maintainers to seamlessly manage the entire operation, surveillance, traffic management, and life safety equipment.

In Australia and New Zealand, SICE has successfully delivered its SIDERA OMCS in six (6) projects – the M5 West in Sydney, the St Helena Tunnel between Tintenbar to Ewingsdale on the Pacific Highway, the WestConnex M4 Tunnels, M8 and M4-M8 Link Tunnels in Sydney, and the Waterview Tunnel in Auckland New Zealand. Furthermore, It has successfully delivered the world’s first Integrated OMCS (IOMCS), based on SIDERA, which manages WestConnex’s three operational OMCSs and expects to integrate up to three additional OMCSs in the future. SICE has two further projects under construction –the Rozelle Interchange in Sydney, the M6 Stage 1 tunnel and motorway in Sydney and the West Gate Tunnel Project in Melbourne.
